Hogsalt is looking for people with drive, ambition, and that special sensibility to take on 11 hard-charging weeks that will put you hands-on with the Hogsalt Design Department and their current projects and initiatives. Hogsalt does things a little differently, and our Internship program is no exception. What to Expect.  Before you throw your hat in the ring, be sure this is right for you.  Take a look in the mirror.  If you’re Hogsalt intern material, you’ll see someone who—

• Enjoys working and learning in a fast-paced environment.

• Communicates quickly and clearly when speaking and writing.

• Brings enthusiasm and an open mind to challenges (even unconventional ones).

• Embraces accountability and attention to detail as an active member of the Hogsalt Design Team.

• Is pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree (preferably final year) in interior design, ideally at a CIDA-accredited school.

• Possesses general knowledge of hospitality- or contract-grade furniture, fixtures, and materials.

• Has experience with design software, including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign & Photoshop), Fohlio, and Google Drive.

• Is proficient with rendering software (Rhino and Lumion preferred).

What You’ll Do. 

• Think Like a Pragmatist: Engage in weekly project design meetings (typically on-site) by inputting realistic and pertinent ideas and strategies.

• Imagine the Future: Take initiative in concept development under the supervision of the Senior Designer.

• Give It That Glow: Execute rendering tasks assigned by the Senior Designer, when applicable.  

• Get Into the Nitty Gritty: Assist with FF&E sourcing and specifications.

• Make Like Rembrandt: Assist drawing needs assigned by Senior Designer and Architect.

• Tame the Beast: Establish organization of the design library.

• Work Shoulder to Shoulder: Closely collaborate with fellow Hogsalt Design team members in an effort to continuously improve the department.  

• Put in the Time: Attend weekly workshops hosted by the Recruiting, Training, & Development Team to learn about and evolve your personal Leadership Style.

• Pool Your Strengths: Engage with Hogsalt Interns from different departments to collaborate on a Group Project which you will present to the Hogsalt Executive Team.
