Job description

Hogsalt is delighted to offer a Software Engineering Summer Internship Experience for those students pursuing a career in Software Development/Engineering!

Spend the summer learning exactly how we do what we do, and come out the other side ready for anything.

Hogsalt is not your typical restaurant group.  Guests know us for transportive spaces and sumptuous fare, but what we are most proud of is the generosity we extend to our teams.  Our service team reimagines hospitality with energy and a sense of fun.  Our culinary team makes classic dishes so expertly that you'll remember why they became classics.  No matter which of our 20+ restaurants you visit, you'll see we're an organization that makes people — our guests and ourselves — happy.

Hogsalt is looking for people with drive, ambition, and that special sensibility to take on 11 hard-charging weeks that will put you hands-on with the Hogsalt Software Development Department and their current projects and initiatives. Hogsalt does things a little differently, and our Intern Program is no exception. If you’re the kind of person who’s passionate about learning and are up to the challenge, this is a singular opportunity.

Hogsalt’s Software Engineering Internship Experience, May 30th—August 15th, 2023.  A summer you’ll never forget.

  • Has foundational knowledge of databases, data structures, algorithms, and programming languages (Javascript preferred).

  • Has basic Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Is pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, although other majors may be considered.

What You’ll Do

  • Put in the Time: Attend weekly workshops hosted by the Recruiting, Training, & Development Team to learn about and evolve your personal Leadership Style.

  • Pool Your Strengths: Engage with Hogsalt Interns from different departments to collaborate on a Group Project which you will present to the Hogsalt Executive Team.

  • Work Shoulder to Shoulder: Closely collaborate with the fellow Hogsalt Development professionals in an effort to continuously improve the department.

  • Know the Beast: Delve into the workings of Hogsalt’s App, our company’s digital platform, which serves every team member within the company.

  • Rack Up Points: Partner with the Hogsalt Development Team in the ongoing evolution and development of our Hogsalt Rewards App.

  • Do It All: Assist in building and rollout of other Development projects and initiatives.

  • Think Like a Strategist: Provide pivotal support to the Development Team by aligning yourself with the company’s development strategies and overall business needs and goals.

  • Think Like a Pragmatist: Engage in weekly team meetings by inputting realistic and pertinent ideas and strategies.

  • Be Open Minded: Learn from mentors at peer and leadership levels.

  • Talk to the Boss: Connect with the Chief Technology Officer every week to discuss personal growth and project management.
