Hogsalt is seeking a dedicated and experienced Executive Baker (Salary Negotiable) to join our team!
As the Executive Baker, you will mentor, coach, and guide all staff to uphold Hogsalt’s standards for food quality and consistency. You will oversee quality control checkpoints for all bakery products prior to store delivery. In addition, you will take the lead on production and manage day-to-day operational challenges, troubleshooting promptly and effectively to ensure seamless bakery operations.

Experience & Qualifications:
Degree in Culinary Arts and/or Baking/Pastry preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience with bread, Viennoiserie, and pastry.
Minimum 3 years of experience managing a kitchen, including all administrative duties (invoice management, maintaining COGS, staff scheduling, employee relations, etc.); familiarity with Google Suite highly preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend long periods of time standing.
Must be positive, collaborative, and committed to healthy communication and quality work.
Must have a valid Food Handler Certificate prior to start date.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Possess the ability to fill into any bakery or pastry hourly position.
Work with FOH, BOH and other management to run efficient cohesive stores.
Manage daily food production in an efficient and consistent manner.
Communicate any product quality issues with store chefs and Baking and Pastry Director in a timely manner.
Take lead on resolving production and any day-to-day operational issues in the bakery by troubleshooting within in a timely manner.
Establish and maintain a weekly working schedule that supports the bakery to cover production needs; the schedule is subject to approval and modification by the Baking and Pastry Director.
Assist with BOH Management training program as needed; train and mentor lead employees.
Be fully trained on payroll software and able to assist with troubleshooting.
Hold vendors accountable for quality of food received and keep the purchasing department aware of any and all vendor issues in a timely and direct manner.
Maintain the bakery Weekly Financial and Invoicing spreadsheets accurately.
Complete weekly Inter Company Transfers.
Maintain organizational documents used in the bakery, such as prep lists, par sheets, and pick lists.
Maintain and organize recipes, order guides, and checklists on the Hogsalt app.
Communicate any issues or updates to the recipe and ordering app to the Baking & Pastry Director.
Track and fulfill production needed for events and catering orders.
Be responsible for the food cost and your team’s labor costs.
Maintain BOH uniform inventory for all bakers.
Participate in 6-month reviews for bakery hourly staff.
Ensure policies and procedures are followed, such as hiring, progressive discipline and wage increases.
