Job Description: Kitchen Porter and Restaurant Assistant (16+ years old)
Hours of work: 0 hours contract with the expectation of up to 3 days per week Monday, Wednesday & Friday's and to include occasional one weekend day, as and when required. Hours between 10am – 3pm (4pm during weekends & school holidays)
Location: Rural location just outside Poole, own transport required.
Purpose of the role:
We’re looking for a hardworking, flexible Kitchen Porter & Restaurant Assistant to support our chef and restaurant team to maintain the smooth operation of the kitchen and restaurant. This is a fast paced role, especially during peak trading and requires a motivated enthusiastic person.
Personal Specification
· Be polite, helpful, presentable, and confident with a can-do attitude.
· Be responsible and punctual.
· Ability to see the next job that needs doing.
· Good time management.
Essential Skills:
· Ability to work quickly with a good eye for detail.
Desirable Experience:
Duties:
· All pots to be washed, before putting through the pot wash.
· Ensure all Restaurant crockery is cleaned and returned to the correct place.
· Ensure all Restaurant cutlery is cleaned & polished, then returned to the front regularly throughout service and then ready for the next day.
· Use our cutlery polisher to help you deliver a sparkling finish.
· Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and health and safety are maintained in the kitchen.
· Ensuring food and equipment deliveries are checked, rotated and stored correctly.
· Assisting the chefs with food preparation when required.
· Assisting the Front of House team with table clearing and leaving tables and chairs presentable for next customers.
· Assisting with cleaning and cleardown of the kitchen at the end of the day to high standard.
Qualifications: None required – Full training given including food hygiene.
