We’re seeking an enthusiastic and diligent brewer to join our Brewing team at St Austell Brewery (Bath Ales), in Warmley, Bristol. Our friendly team of 25 people, split across brewing, engineering, packaging, laboratory, and distribution, work together to make a quarter of a million pints of beer every week.
As part of St Austell Brewery, we brew a range of Bath Ales beers, as well as some St Austell Brewery beers. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to join an organisation committed to quality, and to work within a positive team in a modern and expanding brewery.
Our five-vessel brewhouse was installed in 2018 and has the capacity to produce more than 50,000 brewers’ barrels of beer – over 14.5 million pints – each year. The South West’s most sophisticated and technologically advanced brewery has 23 fermentation vessels, two 40-ton malt silos, SCADA-controlled processes throughout brewing and fermentation, automated yeast cropping and pitching using two Aber meters, and a Pentair cross-flow filtration system. Everything is operated by a small team of two brewers per shift, who report to the Brewing Manager. Our modern packaging lines comprise of an 8,000bph Kosme Krones bottling line, a 15,000cph KHS canning line, and a robotic Kuka palletisation system. We also have a Lambrechts Kegger Monobloc 60 machine.
The ideal candidate
will be hard-working and committed to ensuring our high standards are met
across all aspects of the brewery’s fast-paced working environment, including
Health and Safety, HACCP, quality, and communications.
This exciting role offers variety and a chance to develop your brewing skills
across all aspects of the process, from bringing the raw ingredients into the
brewhouse to fermentation and filtration. You’ll work closely with our
production teams (Packaging, Quality, and Engineering) and provide the
packaging lines with finished beer across cask, keg, bottle, and can. This
role would suit someone with a passion for brewing and a desire to learn
new skills.
We are not able to offer a skilled worker visa for this role. Please only apply if you have an existing right to work in the UK.
