Location: North Essex and Suffolk 

Salary: £45,000 per year

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Service Manager to lead our Supported Living service and inspire a team committed to delivering exceptional care and support.

The Role

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our Supported Living service, ensuring that the people we support receive safe, effective, and high-quality support tailored to their individual needs and aspirations.

You will lead and develop a skilled workforce, promote a positive and inclusive culture, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and work closely with families, professionals, and stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for those we support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the daily operation of the Supported Living service.
  • Ensure people receive high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence and choice.
  • Develop, review, and oversee support plans, risk assessments, and care documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding requirements, the Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation.
  • Lead, motivate, supervise, and develop the staff team.
  • Manage recruitment, induction, training, performance management, and staff development.
  • Ensure safe staffing levels through effective rota management.
  • Oversee medication management, incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns, and complaints.
  • Conduct audits, spot checks, competency assessments, and quality monitoring activities.
  • Support continuous improvement and contribute to quality assurance and governance processes.
  • Build positive relationships with service users, families, commissioners, local authorities, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in the management on-call rota and provide guidance and support during emergencies.
  • Support service development, referrals, assessments, transitions, and occupancy growth.
About You

You will be a confident and compassionate leader with experience managing services within Supported Living, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health, or Adult Social Care.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous management experience within a Supported Living or Adult Social Care setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care, and positive risk management.
  • Knowledge of CQC regulations, the Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Experience leading teams, conducting supervisions, and managing performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Experience completing audits and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with families, professionals, and external stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
  • Experience supporting CQC inspections.
  • Experience managing supported living services for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
