We are looking for a brilliant Mexican Creative Consultant Chef with exceptional Mexican Cuisine and Culture experience to join El Pastor Group for 6 months inspiring our teams across our Restaurants in London.

El Pastor is a small group of Mexican taquerias in London, inspired by the decade the founders spent in Mexico City, running a cult nightclub and searching for the city’s best taco al pastor.

We pour our hearts into top quality authentic produce, making fresh tortillas daily using heritage corn and working directly with suppliers and cooperative farmers in Mexico.

We are proud to have been awarded a Star by the Sustainable Restaurant Association.

The Mexican Creative Consultant Chef Role

• Experience of 2 years in a high volume, quality led Mexican Restaurant
• Working work hand in hand with our Group Executive Chef and Managing and Operations Directors
• Share our philosophy and passionate about Mexican Cuisine, provenance and milpa culture
• Review and improve existing dishes on the menu in line with our existing offer
• Proven track record of inspiring, training and motivating large teams
• Oversee the menu development, recipe creation and costings
• Strive to deliver the highest levels of food with consistency, improving and innovating dishes
• Initially a 6-month Consultancy Contract with the potential to develop into a more permanent ambassadorial position
• Good understanding of wastage, stock management, costings, and GP
• Be the face of the brand known for its warm welcome
• Excellent knowledge of Mexican produce, culture and flavours
• Strong team ethic showing respect for your colleagues
• A passion for hospitality and your own development is a must
