Description

Floor Manager – Hawksmoor Boston

Boston is one of the most beautiful and important cities in the country — rich in history, energy, and culinary excellence. We've had our eye on it for a while. So, after twenty years of building Hawksmoor in the UK, Ireland, Chicago, and New York, we've finally made our way to Boston!

In Fort Point, we've found a home that reminds us of where Hawksmoor began two decades ago — the character, community, and creativity. At 15 Necco Street (Platinum LEED-certified and a natural fit for our B Corp values), we'll have space for 200+ guests, private dining and event spaces, a bar program recognized by the James Beard Foundation and Tales of the Cocktail, sweeping views across Fort Point Channel, and an outdoor terrace made for long lunches and celebratory dinners.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, we're looking for a Floor Manager to join our team and support our third US restaurant in Boston.

Work somewhere awesome:

Careers with Hawksmoor Restaurants are among the best — generous pay and benefits, award-winning restaurants, unrivalled career opportunities, and some of the happiest people in the business (as voted by the people who work here). Recognized as one of the top 100 companies to work for in the UK for fourteen years in a row, and we endeavor to do the same in the US.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

To be responsible for the running of the restaurant, including but not exclusively:

  • Delivering excellent team service and hospitality
  • Overseeing the training and education of staff on the finer points of service
  • Identifying staffing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training needs of qualified candidates
  • Maintaining proper loss prevention standards, including cash handling procedures, accurate deposits, and safe procedures in the restaurant

Ensuring that all of Hawksmoor's service and hospitality standards are maintained and continually improving.

A good understanding of:

  • All products, both food and beverage
  • Sanitation and safety laws
  • Systems, including OpenTable, Aloha, and others

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Extensive experience running some of the best restaurant floors in Boston
  • Experience launching and opening restaurants in Boston and the US
  • Comfortable and experienced with high-volume businesses in terms of both covers and revenue
  • Excellent floor management and supervisory skills
  • Good under pressure
  • Ability to create an incredible culture and work ethic within your team
  • Exemplary product knowledge of food and beverage
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to teach, coach, and train all FOH employees
  • Experience in all Massachusetts Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Practices and Standards
