Description
Hawksmoor is opening in an incredible restaurant space in New York: a beautiful National Historic Landmark built as The United Charities Building in 1893 with an incredible 10 metre ceilinged assembly hall that will form the main room of the restaurant. The location is just off Park Avenue South and north of the prestigious Gramercy Park and Union Square. The restaurant will be 170 seats with a 50-cover bar and will be opening early 2020.
Reporting to the Executive Chef, we’re looking for a brand-new Kitchen Porter to join our team and open our first international restaurant in New York.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
• Working within the Kitchen Porter team, which will include
o Health & Safety/Manual handling
o Maintenance and general up keeping of kitchen equipment
o Preparation of basic foods
o Bringing deliveries of foods and chemicals into the restaurant
o Cleanliness of the general kitchen area i.e. bins/bin room/floors/walls etc.
o Daily communication with the senior chef in charge
o A good understanding of chemicals and cleaning equipment
To be considered for the role you will have:
• Extensive experience working in some of the best kitchens in New York.
• Comfortable and experienced with high volume businesses in terms of both covers and revenue.
• Hard work and dedication.
