Description

Hawksmoor is seeking a skilled and strategic Social Media & Content Manager based in Chicago to lead our organic social media presence across the United States, with a primary focus on our two restaurants in Chicago and New York City. This role will play a critical part in shaping Hawksmoor’s brand storytelling in the U.S. market while maintaining alignment with our broader marketing strategy and working closely with our UK-based brand marketing team.

As we expand our footprint in the U.S., this position represents an exciting opportunity to elevate our digital voice and create meaningful engagement with local communities, influencers, and partners. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of content creation expertise, platform fluency, and a deep understanding of local market dynamics within the hospitality or lifestyle sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with the Group Senior Content Manager to develop and present the U.S. organic social media strategy in line with Hawksmoor’s business objectives and marketing calendar.

  • Create and maintain monthly and quarterly social media plans for U.S. restaurants, aligned with wider business activity and culturally relevant moments.

  • Act as the primary lead for Hawksmoor’s social media presence in the U.S., while working closely with the broader marketing team to ensure consistency of tone and brand messaging across regions.

Content Creation & Scheduling

  • Lead content creation across channels (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), producing high-quality visual and written content including photography, short-form video, Reels, Stories, and more.

  • Your photography and content will be used not only across social media but also across all Hawksmoor marketing channels—including the website, press and media, PR, advertising, paid social, and email marketing.

  • Plan and schedule daily social media activity across platforms, ensuring campaigns are timely, relevant, and audience-driven through Sprout Social.

  • Support restaurant openings, campaigns, and events with on-the-ground content and coverage as required.

Community Engagement & Influencer Relations

  • Manage community engagement, responding to messages and comments in a timely, brand-aligned manner.

  • Build and nurture relationships with local influencers, content creators, and partners to increase visibility and reach across key markets.

  • Identify opportunities for co-creation, user-generated content, and local partnerships.

Insights & Performance

  • Monitor platform performance and analyze engagement metrics to guide content optimization.

  • Provide regular reporting on social media activity, sharing insights with the wider team and using data to refine strategy.

  • Stay up to date with evolving social trends, tools, and platform innovations, proactively applying relevant learnings to Hawksmoor’s content strategy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a social media, content role, within hospitality/food & beverage industry.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful organic social media strategies.

  • Strong photography and content production skills (including hands-on use of camera equipment, mobile video, and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Capcut or similar).

  • Deep understanding of platform-specific trends and best practices, particularly for Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms.

  • Experience working with influencers and local creators in the U.S. market.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of tone and brand voice.

  • Highly organized and able to work independently across time zones, with confidence in managing timelines and priorities.

  • Willingness to travel frequently between Chicago and New York City as required.
