Hawksmoor is located in an incredible restaurant space in New York: a beautiful National Historic Landmark built as The United Charities Building in 1893 with an incredible 10 meter ceilinged assembly hall that forms the main room of the restaurant. The location is just off Park Avenue South and north of the prestigious Gramercy Park and Union Square. The restaurant hosts 170 seats with a 50-cover bar and opened in the Summer of 2021.
Reporting to the Head Chef, we’re looking for a Sous Chef to join our team.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
• To support the Head Chef in;
o Food quality and consistency
o Taking part in menu development and tastings
o Efficiency of services/kitchen
o Product and service standards
o Health & Safety
o Maintenance of kitchen equipment
o Set an example to staff when running the pass or working on a section.
o Giving support to senior staff within the team FOH/BOH
• To support the Head Chef and manage the kitchen’s financial performance, including:
o Being aware of GP targets
o Ensure stock levels are appropriate and ordering is optimized
• A good understanding of:
o Product
o Company recipes (which must be followed exactly)
o Systems, including QSR, Stock management and inventory control
To be considered for the role you will have:
• Extensive experience running some of the best kitchens in New York.
• Experience launching and opening restaurants in New York and the US.
• Comfortable and experienced with high volume businesses in terms of both covers and revenue.
• Top management and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent leadership skills with ability to teach, coach and train all FOH and BOH employees.
