Sales and Events Manager


Description

The Event Sales & Catering Manager is responsible for planning and executing all private dining and large party events. They are responsible for building business for the restaurant through direct and indirect sales techniques, including promotion and marketing at the restaurant level. The Sales Manager will be required to develop and maintain business relationships inside and outside the restaurant. This position also requires partnering with the Management Team and Chef de Cuisine to ensure each event is executed in a manner that exceeds guests’ expectations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Solicit, negotiate, and secure new business through relationship building with concierges, meeting planners, industry professionals, industry events, conventions, associations and meetings.
  • Maintain, utilize, and enhance a local area book of business to facilitate special event bookings and sales.
  • Prompt follow up with guest feedback.
  • Generate “thank you” notes to clients after functions to promote repeat business.
  • Continual guest communication around important dates and deadlines to ensure restaurant team has information necessary to execute a successful event (pricing, cut-off dates, introductions, payment authorization, menu detailing, guarantees, etc.).
  • Handle incoming phone inquiries and web inquiries from clients
  • Prepare proposal and contracts for clients
  • Follow up with clients during and after events

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of restaurant sales experience or similar position in this market required
  • Use of Tripleseat or similar sales software preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite
  • Proficiency with OpenTable or similar booking software preferred
  • Experience negotiating pricing within restaurant guidelines
  • Food and beverage knowledge a plus
