Role Overview
The Deputy Head of Production is a key role within the venue’s production team, supporting the Head of Production
in delivering seamless technical operations across all event types, with a particular emphasis on corporate and
private events. The role combines hands-on technical delivery, team supervision, and event planning, ensuring every
event meets the highest production standards.
You will act as a lead on events, liaising with clients, artists, promoters, and crew to ensure smooth, efficient, and
safe operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Manager looking to take the next step

Key Responsibilities
Corporate & Private Events
Work closely with corporate clients, producers, and account managers to define and deliver technical
requirements for events such as conferences, award shows, product launches, and brand activations.
Lead on technical delivery, including AV systems, live streaming, lighting, staging, and presentation
technologies.
Oversee setup and operation of high-spec production for client-facing events, ensuring branding, aesthetic,
and schedule requirements are met.
Coordinate with external suppliers and freelancers to deliver a professional, high-end experience.
Quote for additional production elements to enhance the event and drive revenue.
Live & Club Events
Support the delivery of live music shows, touring productions, and DJ-led club nights.
Act as technical lead on show days, managing get-ins, soundchecks, stage setups, and live show operation.
Liaise with artists, tour managers, and promoters to meet rider requirements and maintain production
quality.
Ensure excellent sound, lighting, and staging that aligns with the venue’s creative standards and audience
experience.
Technical Delivery
Work with the larger production team to operate and maintain in-house production systems including audio,
lighting and video systems, as well as staging and rigging equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently during live events. Ensure all technical elements are prepared and tested in advance of events.
Contribute to the upkeep, servicing, and documentation of all venue production equipment.
Team Leadership
Support the Head of Production in managing the full time staff and freelance crew, including scheduling,
briefing, and on-site supervision.
Lead technical teams on event days, ensuring clear communication and a safe working environment.
Provide mentoring and training opportunities for junior technicians and freelance crew.
Step in as senior production lead in the absence of the Head of Production.
Planning & Administration
Attend pre-event meetings, client walk-throughs, and site visits to gather and communicate production
requirements.
Draft and maintain production schedules, technical riders, equipment lists, and risk assessments.
Manage production budgets, source sub-hires, and track project costs.
Support inventory management and assist in identifying equipment needs and upgrades.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all production activity adheres to health & safety best practice, licensing conditions, and legal
requirements.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work for each event.
Help maintain the venue’s high standards for staff and public safety.
Support the Head of Production with safety documentation, inspections, and training initiatives.

Knowledge of video systems including switchers, LED walls, and streaming tools.
Experience with CAD/Vectorworks and production documentation.
Health and safety qualifications such as First Aid, PASMA, IPAF, BS7909, or IOSH.
Budgeting and supplier management experience.
