Purpose of the Role

The Human Resources Manager will lead the HR function for 67 Pall Mall, ensuring effective people management, compliance, and employee engagement across the Club. This role will act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, oversee HR operations, and deliver initiatives that attract, retain, and develop our people.

With a strong balance between strategy and hands-on delivery, the HR Manager will champion our values, drive a culture of excellence, and ensure we continue to be an employer of choice in the hospitality industry.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to develop and implement the HR strategy aligned with Club objectives.
  • Provide expert HR advice and guidance on employee relations, organisational design, and workforce planning.
  • Lead and manage the HR Administrator(s), ensuring delivery of effective HR support across the employee lifecycle.

Employee Relations

  • Oversee and advise on disciplinary, grievance, performance, and capability processes, ensuring fair and consistent practice.
  • Build strong relationships with managers to support them in effectively managing and developing their teams.
  • Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and positive employee engagement.

Recruitment, Induction & Retention

  • Lead recruitment strategies to attract top hospitality talent in a competitive market.
  • Oversee the induction programme for new starters, ensuring a smooth and engaging onboarding experience.
  • Monitor employee turnover and implement initiatives to drive retention and engagement.

Learning & Development

  • Design and deliver training programmes that support career progression and skills development.
  • Manage performance review and appraisal processes, ensuring alignment with Club standards and objectives.
  • Identify leadership development opportunities and create pathways for talent progression.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with employment law, GDPR, and health & safety obligations.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures in line with best practice.
  • Oversee HR metrics and reporting, providing regular updates to senior management on key people data.

Culture & Engagement

  • Drive initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Actively promote wellbeing, diversity, and engagement across the Club.
  • Lead internal communications on HR-related matters, ensuring transparency and trust.


Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or strong HR Generalist, ideally within hospitality or a service-led environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations cases with confidence.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

Desirable Skills

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a membership club, luxury hospitality, or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll and HR systems administration.
