East the East London Pub Co is looking for an experienced director of finance to take over the reigns of this growing business. The business currently has 6 high volume sites in central London with a further two in the pipeline, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing boutique pub and restaurant group and help to shape the next stage of growth.
You will have a finance team of 3 and be based in our Spitalfields Head Office in Central London.
Responsibilities:
  • Management and responsibility for the finance function, and a team of 3
  • Lead business planning from an annual to 5-year basis and helping to drive strategic choices to maximise growth and profitability
  • Lead the company’s future fundraising, and assist in site acquisition
  • Responsibility for the preparation and issuing of monthly management accounts, Year End Reports, audit process and other ad hoc requirements to the relevant teams
  • Ensuring timely and accurate management and financial reporting to the Board
  • Business Partnering across Ops teams to maximise performance
  • High quality commercial analysis across the business to assist in business making decisions and to be proactively involved in margin improvements across all functions of the business
  • Manage KPIs and ensure the business is engaged in achieving the best possible financial performance with continual review of performance vs targets
  • Maintain tight controls and cash management
  • Manage the end to end payroll process
  • Manage insurance, legal agreements, tax, audit, and banking
  • Ensure that the company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and can support future business growth
Candidate Profile
  • Experience of working as a Head of Finance or Finance Director within Leisure and Hospitality
  • Fully qualified accountant with 5+ years’ experience
  • Hands on, roll your sleeves up attitude
  • Leadership of a team and experience of operating within an Exec Team
  • Proven ability to manage the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Fundraising experience
  • Resilient and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of managing other departments and processes, such as IT, insurance renewals and utilities tenders
