Internal Auditor
St Austell Brewery

Description

We’re looking for an Internal Auditor to join our team and support the Head of Internal Audit and Risk in strengthening governance, improving controls and driving positive change across the organisation.

In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, gaining a deep understanding of how different functions operate, the risks they face and how controls work in practice. You’ll help design and deliver risk based audits that provide meaningful insight, and you’ll play a key role in monitoring progress against agreed actions to ensure improvements are fully embedded and sustained.

As an Internal Auditor, you’ll provide independent and objective assurance that helps the organisation make informed decisions, manage risk effectively and continually enhance its internal control environment. By identifying opportunities for improvement and offering practical, forward thinking recommendations, you will directly support the organisation in achieving its strategic goals and championing a culture of accountability, integrity and continuous improvement.

About you:

  • Experience working in Internal Audit, Risk, Governance or a related assurance role.
  • Working knowledge of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks, ideally within a regulated or complex organisation.
  • Familiarity with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and its practical application.
  • Experience supporting or delivering audit planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow‑up activities.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify risks, control gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills; the ability to explain audit findings to auditees and to build positive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience using or supporting digital audit tools, data analytics or dashboards is desirable.
  • Practical experience managing documentation and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, including version control and information organisation.
  • High standards of integrity, competence, independence and confidentiality, in line with the IIA's professional conduct standards.

What we offer in return

  • 25 days’ annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays)
  • Company bonus scheme
  • 30% discount on food & drink within our managed pubs & Visitors Centre shop
  • 50% discount on accommodation within the managed estate
  • Fantastic training & career development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme - 4% Employee and Employer. Can increase to 5% if required
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Westfield Health cash plan – Claim money back for Dental, Eye Care, Physio etc.
  • Westfield Rewards – Shopping rewards
