Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of period-end close activities, including the preparation and posting of month-end journals and associated accounting processes.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining a thorough understanding of balances and proactively investigating any variances identified.
  • Resolve reconciliation issues independently where appropriate, escalating as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and analyse key movement schedules, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the year-end audit process and act as a key contact for auditors, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Prepare audit schedules, samples, and supporting documentation to facilitate an efficient audit process.
  • Produce accurate financial information to support reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Support the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting and tax returns.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting practices.
  • Ensure statutory and reporting requirements are met and that financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies.

About You

  • MAAT (AAT Level 4) qualified as a minimum requirement. Applications are welcomed from newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA candidates, as well as individuals actively studying towards a professional qualification. We are committed to supporting development and, for the right candidate, further study support may be available following successful performance in the role.
  • Driven to enhance processes and controls, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Effective relationship builder with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proactive and confident in investigating issues, identifying solutions, and taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Able to prioritise multiple activities and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and financial systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working to deadlines within a dynamic and evolving organisation.
