Description
We're looking for an experienced Finance Director to join Flying Trade Group and Surya Hotels.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a senior leadership role within a growing business, working closely with the Board and leadership team to help drive financial performance, support business growth, and ensure the Group remains financially strong for the future.
Flying Trade Group and Surya Hotels are privately owned businesses with a diverse portfolio and ambitious plans for the future. Surya Hotels operates a collection of distinctive hotels and hospitality venues across the UK, combining historic character with exceptional guest experiences.
As our Finance Director, you'll be responsible for leading the finance function, providing commercial insight, and ensuring the business has the financial information and controls needed to make informed decisions.
This is a full time, office based role, on site at our Head Office in Ardleigh, Essex. Applicants should have their own transport available to travel to sites.

Key Responsibilities as our Finance Director:
- Provide financial leadership across the Group, ensuring accurate reporting, effective controls, and effective decision-making.
- Develop financial plans and strategies that support business objectives and drive commercial success.
- Produce and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring the Board has clear and meaningful insights.
- Support key business initiatives through financial analysis, investment appraisals, and performance evaluation.
- Improve profitability by identifying opportunities to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Manage cash flow, taxation, compliance, and financial governance across all business areas.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to support the needs of a growing organisation.
- Enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting to improve business performance and operational effectiveness.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience in a Finance Director or senior finance leadership position.
- Background within hospitality, leisure, hotels, or another multi-site business environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to turn financial data into practical business recommendations.
- Experience supporting growth, change, and business improvement initiatives.
- Proven success in improving financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working closely with Boards and senior management teams.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to balance strategic goals and operational priorities.
