Description
Area Assistant Manager – Pubs, Restaurants & Hotels
Area: Hampshire, Dorset & Berkshire
Support the Area/Regional Manager in the day-to-day operation of multiple pubs, restaurants and hotel sites.
Ensure excellent
guest service, food quality and accommodation standards
across all locations.
Lead, coach and develop General Managers, Assistant Managers and wider teams.
Monitor
sales, labour costs, GP, wastage and other key financial targets
.
Drive food and beverage sales, room occupancy and overall site profitability.
Ensure compliance with
licensing, food safety, health & safety and company policies
.
Carry out regular site visits, audits and operational reviews.
Support recruitment, training, succession planning and performance management.
Analyse business performance and create action plans to improve results.
Work closely with kitchen, front-of-house, housekeeping and hotel teams.
Maintain strong standards for
rooms, cleanliness, maintenance and guest satisfaction
.
Support new openings, refurbishments, promotions and business improvement projects.
Build relationships with suppliers and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Handle customer complaints and resolve operational issues effectively.
Deputise for the Area/Regional Manager when required.
Key skills and experience
Experience managing
multiple hospitality venues
.
Strong background in pubs, restaurants, hotels or a combination of these.
Commercial understanding of
P&L, budgets, labour and cost control
.
Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
Strong knowledge of food safety, licensing and health & safety.
Ability to work across different sites and adapt to changing priorities.
Confident communicator with strong customer-service skills.
Able to analyse performance figures and turn them into practical action plans.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
