Circa £35,000 package (paid hourly + TRONC)

About Us

Nestled in the heart of Leeds, Ox Club is a contemporary British grill known for bold flavours, seasonal produce and open-fire cooking. Our Michelin-recommended restaurant celebrates simple ingredients treated with care — from expertly charred meats to vibrant vegetable-led dishes — all served in the relaxed, industrial setting of Headrow House.

The Role

As Junior Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with our Head Chef and Sous team to help drive the kitchen forward. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll develop your management skills while continuing to cook great food every day.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Helping maintain the high standards Ox Club is known for
  • Leading sections during service and supporting the wider team
  • Training and developing junior chefs and commis
  • Assisting with ordering, stock control and minimising waste
  • Contributing ideas to seasonal menu development
  • Ensuring food safety, cleanliness and organisation are always on point

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up or an existing Junior Sous looking for a new challenge.

You’ll likely have:

  • Experience in a quality restaurant kitchen
  • A passion for seasonal ingredients and fire-led cooking
  • Strong organisation and the ability to lead by example
  • A positive, team-first attitude
  • Calmness under pressure during busy services
  • A genuine desire to keep learning and improving

Pay & Benefits

  • Circa £35,000 package (paid hourly, including TRONC)
  • Free CODE app staff membership with discounts on bars, restaurants, gyms and more
  • Free confidential mental health support
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • The chance to work in a Michelin-recommended kitchen with a supportive, ambitious team
