We are now looking for a Sommelier to join the iconic Hell’s Kitchen – Washington DC. Our two-story waterfront restaurant sits in The Wharf with beautiful views overlooking the Potomac River serving iconic Chef Ramsay dishes like Beef Wellington, Pan-Seared Scallops & Lobster Risotto.

As Sommelier, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the wine narrative of the restaurant — curating exceptional guest experiences, driving revenue through strategic upselling, and ensuring our wine program reflects the world class hospitality standards of Hell’s Kitchen & Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global.

Must Have Experience

• Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a senior wine-focused role within a high-volume, premium, or fine dining restaurant
• Strong knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, producers, and current industry trends
• Demonstrated success in upselling wines and driving revenue
• Experience with wine inventory management and stock control systems
• Confidence in engaging guests with informative, enthusiastic, and personalized recommendations
• Strong understanding of restaurant service standards and day-to-day restaurant operations
• WSET Level 2 or above (Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while building strong rapport with both guests and colleagues
• A genuine desire to continuously learn and refine both wine knowledge and leadership skills

Key Accountabilities

• Deliver an exceptional and engaging wine service that enhances the overall guest experience
• Confidently recommend and upsell wines tailored to guest preferences and menu selections
• Oversee and maintain the wine program, ensuring it reflects brand standards and drives profitability
• Manage wine inventory, ordering, stock rotation, and cost control to optimize performance
• Collaborate with management and culinary teams to ensure seamless service execution
• Train and inspire front-of-house team members on wine knowledge and service standards
• Support restaurant service and develop broader restaurant management skills in daily operations
• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase beverage revenue
• Maintain the highest standards of presentation, professionalism, and guest engagement
