Description

About SRSL

Sir Richard Sutton Limited (SRSL) operates across hospitality, agriculture, and property management. We aim to provide excellent service and create meaningful experiences for our guests, residents, partners, and local communities. Our teams work with purpose, professionalism, and respect across all areas of the business.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join our Hotels Finance team at The Francis Hotel in Bath. As Senior Finance Assistant, you’ll play an important role in keeping the financial information behind our hotel operations accurate, timely, and useful. Working closely with Hotel Operations and the wider Hotels Finance team, you’ll take ownership of key day-to-day finance processes, investigate discrepancies, and provide the financial insight and constructive challenge that helps our teams make informed decisions.

This role will suit someone who enjoys combining strong financial control with practical business partnering and who is confident taking responsibility for their work while supporting others in the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own key daily finance controls, including income audit, credit card, cash, revenue, and payment reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain the EBITDA tracker and other performance reporting, helping General Managers and Heads of Department understand revenue, costs, and operational performance.
  • Monitor food and beverage sales, payroll productivity information, and weekly sales forecasts to support effective performance management.
  • Process approved invoices into NetSuite, ensuring accurate coding and financial records.
  • Monitor and actively manage outstanding debt, including sales ledger and PM accounts, complete credit checks, and support the Credit Control team in improving debtor days.
  • Process weekly and monthly payment runs and prepare accrual analysis for the Hotels Cost Accountant.
  • Provide financial analysis and practical support to General Managers and Heads of Department as required.
  • Support and guide Finance Assistants within the Hotels Finance team, including reviewing work where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in an accounting or hotel finance role, with the confidence to take ownership of finance processes and resolve issues independently. Hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Strong numerical skills and close attention to detail, with a focus on producing accurate and reliable financial information.
  • Confidence communicating financial information clearly and constructively challenging operational colleagues where needed.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Excel.
  • An organised and self-motivated approach, with the ability to use your initiative and manage competing deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
  • Experience using Procure Wizard, another purchase-to-pay or purchase order system, NetSuite, or a similar accounting platform would be an advantage.

Why Join Us?
