We're seeking a passionate Leisure and Spa Manager to lead our Leisure Club and Spa club within the Hogs Back Hotel.

High on a wooded ridge, the Hog’s Back Hotel’s distinctive façade has been a welcome sight for travellers on this road for generations.

Step inside and the accent is on classic comfort, from the stylish restaurant and bar to the 96 spacious, light-filled bedrooms. A high-spec spa and pool meanwhile invite relaxation – or invigoration in the Hog’s Back Leisure Club gym. The location could hardly be better. Historic Guildford and the Surrey Hills are on your doorstep, and some of the UK’s leading attractions are a short hop by car, from Legoland and royal Windsor to the thrills of Thorpe Park. 

The Leisure and Spa Manager will ensure that the Hotel and Spa, consistently achieves product and Hospitality service standards. To provide exceptional Customer Service to all guests of the Spa, ensuring that quality standards are maintained whilst achieving maximum revenue and guest satisfaction.  

The Leisure and Spa Manager leads the Leisure and Spa teams, ensuring the facilities- gym, pool, sauna, steam and treatment rooms, are maintained in great condition and available to our guests and members. with treatment rooms and more under development, it's an exciting time to join the hotel to lead the teams.

Main Duties of the Role:

  • To manage Leisure operations, classes and rotating to ensure Guest service levels are maintained and facilities available at all opening times.
  • Leadership and development of your Team, including instructors, contractors and therapists.
  • Ensure the rota is arranged to meet the needs of the Business and diary plans.
  • To anticipate guests’ needs wherever possible and promote to them within the Hotel enhancing guest satisfaction.
  • To communicate and share knowledge with other Hotel departments.
  • To positively approach all sales opportunities in order to maximize club and Hotel revenue to meet and exceed budgeted targets.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2 years Hospitality and Leisure management experience.
  • Lifeguard qualification, First Aid Qualification, Pool Responder and Pool Plant Qualification is highly advantageous.
  • NVQ Level 3 or YMCA Gym Instructor qualifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
