Description

Honesty Group is an independent business operating pubs, restaurants, coffeeshops, and farm shop.
Opened in 2014, Honesty Group now runs 15 sites across Berkshire and Hampshire, with our strong community-led values, and people-first approach separating us from our competitors. We are committed to holding ourselves to the highest standards with regards to the environment and sustainability, with all our food made by hand by our incredible team of chefs and bakers utilising fresh, seasonal, local ingredients (where possible) and served to our customers by dedicated, healthy and happy staff.

Join the team at our Wokingham Food & Coffee House, part of Honesty Group – a proudly independent food business passionate about quality ingredients, customer connection, and simple, honest food.

We are looking for a Team Leader to support our front-of-house team, delivering great customer experiences and helping keep service running smoothly. This is a fantastic stepping stone for someone looking to grow into a supervisory role.

Hours and Shifts: 36 hours per week

(Off Friday and Saturday)

Main Purpose of Role:

To lead and support the team during daily service, acting as a point of contact and role model on the shop floor. You’ll help ensure smooth operations, maintain presentation standards, and assist in delivering excellent customer service in a vibrant and busy food environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Supervisor in coordinating day-to-day service

  • Lead and motivate Coffee Shop Assistants during peak times

  • Welcome customers and ensure friendly, helpful service throughout

  • Serve freshly prepared items including toasties, soups, and pastries

  • Heat and plate food items following company food safety standards

  • Keep the shop clean, tidy, and well-presented throughout the day

  • Assist with daily checks (e.g., fridge temps, cleaning schedules)

  • Support new starters with informal training and guidance

  • Open or close the shop as a keyholder (depending on experience)

  • Maintain stock presentation and help restock front-of-house items

  • Ensure the environment is warm, professional, and up to brand standards

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a busy café, coffee house, or hospitality setting

  • A natural leader who brings energy and calm to the team

  • Confident and capable under pressure

  • A customer-first mindset and great communication skills

  • Flexible availability including weekends and peak times

  • A desire to grow and take on more responsibility

What We Offer:

  • Secure employment contracts

  • Competitive pay

  • Full training and career development

  • Free meal on duty

  • 20% discount on all Honesty Group products

  • Discounted Cookery School courses

  • Progression opportunities into Supervisor and beyond
