Estate Gardener 

Location - Bruton, Private Estate

Hours - Permanent 40 hours per week

Estate Gardener

As our Estate Gardener, you will care for the private estate’s grounds, focusing on maintaining and developing flower beds, shrubs, and lawns to ensure vibrant and appealing gardens year-round. Your responsibilities include delivering seasonal planting schemes and preparing the grounds for changes throughout the year. Working alongside the Estate Manager, you will apply your horticultural skills while following the garden designer's vision to create beautiful outdoor spaces. Professionalism and discretion are essential, as you will be working in a private household.


What makes a brilliant Estate Gardener?

  • Demonstrable gardening or horticultural experience, ideally on private estates or large gardens.
  • Strong practical knowledge of seasonal garden care, ornamental plants, shrubs, and lawns.
  • A passion for creating beautiful and well-thought-out outdoor spaces to be enjoyed by our owners and their guests.
  • Capable of working outdoors year-round.
  • Skilled in the safe use of gardening tools, equipment, and light machinery.
  • High level of discretion and trustworthiness.
  • A proactive, reliable, and self-motivated approach with an eye for detail.

Desirable:

  • Horticultural qualifications (e.g., RHS Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Certificates in pesticide use (PA1/PA6), chainsaw operation, or other specialist equipment.
  • Experience with irrigation systems, composting, or organic gardening methods.
