What you'll do
As a Head Butler at 45 Park Lane, you will be at the heart of creating memorable and personalised experiences for our guests. Your primary role is to welcome guests, ensure their suite is perfectly prepared, and attend to their individual needs throughout their stay. This includes:
Training, Recruiting and motivating a team butlers to deliver service excellence.
Guest Welcome and Suite Preparation: Warmly greeting guests upon arrival, handling in-room check-ins, and ensuring suites are impeccably presented.
Personalised Guest Service: Anticipating and fulfilling guest requests with discretion and attention to detail, from unpacking luggage to arranging bespoke experiences.
Coordination and Communication: Collaborating with departments such as Housekeeping, Room Service, and Concierge to deliver seamless service and ensure our guest profiles are being regularly updated and enriched.
Knowledgeable Service: Possessing excellent knowledge of the hotel, its facilities, and current events and locations around London to enhance the guest experience.
Hospitality Excellence: Ensuring that every interaction is conducted with the warmth, precision, and care synonymous with The Dorchester’s legacy.
You will be working on a seven-day rota, based on a three-shift pattern:
Morning shift: 07:00–15:45
Middle shift: 10:00–18:45
Late shift: 14:30–23:15
You will receive two days off per week and will be required to work on bank holidays as part of the rota.
Previous experience in a London Boutique hotel as Butler Manager or Assistant Butler Manager.
Strong ability to lead a team of individuals to achieve service excellence and professionalism at all times.
Exceptional guest service orientation, with the ability to anticipate needs and personalise experiences through genuine care and creativity.
Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Thorough understanding of service protocols, etiquette, and professional presentation standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Flexibility to work a variable shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays.
Familiarity with London’s key locations, attractions, and cultural events, to confidently advise guests.
Multilingual abilities, especially in languages frequently used by international guests.
Formal training in luxury hospitality or butler service standards.
