What you'll do

As Door Person / Luggage Porter, you'll love what you do and take pride in taking care of our guests:

  • You will be responsible for welcoming guests in a professional, courteous manner to ensure guests are immediately settled into a warm, hospitable atmosphere so they feel at home and to ensure our guests receives nothing but the best experience.
  • Part of your main duties will include handling luggage delivery and collection.
  • As our Doorperson, you will provide all passers-by and visitors with a positive first impression of the hotel whilst working closely with the security team to always ensure the building and our guests are kept safe.
  • You’ll also show flexibility and creativity in dealing with guests’ special requests and challenges that may arise during the day. Sometimes you will be asked to run an errand for our guests or operational departments.
  • You will be expected to wear and adequately use our earpiece / communication device VOCERA at all times during your shift to communicate all arrivals, departures and relevant information to the operational teams collaborating closely with our Welcome Hosts and Butlers.

The items shared are the essence of a day in the life of our Door Person / Luggage Porter, but we will make sure you are provided with specifics on how we care for our hotel.

The operational hours of work are shift-based and may be subjected to change. These hours are currently set as:

  • 12-hour shifts with a 45-minute break
  • Working hours may start at 6:45am, 9:00am or 12:00pm but flexibility is expected as these times are subject to change
  • Shift patterns will be arranged with the Head Doorman and you will be assigned to work a total of 7 shifts every two weeks


What you'll bring

  • Previous experience as a Door Person / Luggage Porter, preferably in a luxury hotel
  • A flexible and spontaneous approach that allows to support different departments outside a door person's daily task
  • A valid UK driving licence (holding a licence for three years with no points)
  • Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
  • English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in a 5-star luxury hotel or similar
