Night Porter (Part-Time)

Location: The Hoste Arms, Burnham Market, Norfolk
Hours: Friday and Saturday nights (20 hours per week)
Rate of Pay: Up to £15 per hour

Job Overview:

We are looking for a reliable and responsible Night Porter to join our dedicated team. This is a part-time role working overnight on Friday and Saturday nights. The successful candidate will ensure the safety, security, and comfort of our guests during the night and provide high standards of customer service throughout their shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a warm and professional welcome to late-arriving guests

• Carry out security checks and monitor the premises throughout the night

• Assist guests with any overnight requests or queries

• Set up or prepare public areas and function rooms as required for the next day

• Support housekeeping and maintenance duties where necessary

• Ensure all health & safety protocols are followed

• Maintain a clean and orderly reception and communal areas

• Prepare simple reports and handovers for the day team

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred but not essential as full training is provided

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proactive and able to work independently

• High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism

• Basic IT skills and ability to handle telephone and email queries

• A calm and composed attitude, especially in emergencies

What we look for in a Night Porter:

As the successful Night Porter you will have a passion to deliver exceptional customer service every time, with a friendly outgoing personality, be self-motivated and willing to work alone at times. You will have experience working in a similar environment, have excellent communication skills and an impeccable eye for detail.

Our Night Porters play an important role in ensuring the safety of our guests and the security of our pub and hotel throughout the night. You will be responsible for dealing with any guest requests, greeting and checking in late arrivals and maintaining room standards. As Night Porter you will also set up for breakfast service and carry out any health and safety checks and audits as necessary.
