Our Reception Manager role:

As our Reception Manager you’ll be overseeing front desk operations to ensure all guests receive a warm welcome and a fond farewell. You’ll help with information on the local area and things to do as well as problem solve any issues that arrive.

You’ll be the face of the front desk and display great hospitality to ensure guests have a great stay in the hotel.

As someone who puts guests needs first, you’ll know how to support your team and how to help them thrive in order to provide the best experience for our guests.

As our Reception Manager you’ll be:

  • Ensuring all guests are given a warm welcome to the hotel as the first point of contact
  • Ensuring all guests receive a friendly, seamless and detailed check in
  • Giving relevant guest information on the hotel facilities and local area during check in and throughout their stay
  • Ensuring all first-time guests are assisted with parking, luggage and shown to their room
  • Carrying out courtesy calls to guests, alongside your team to nip any issues in the bud
  • Ensuring host team displays exceptional, proactive levels of guest service and care at all times
  • Checking arrivals lists to make sure that all special requests & room allocations are noted and actioned
  • Coordinating with housekeeping, reservations & guest services to ensure guest satisfaction is maintained across their stay
  • Reviewing guest feedback and communicate back to team, positives. Identify any areas for improvements and implement actions accordingly.
  • Addressing guest complaints, feedback and inquiries with a proactive and solution focused approach.
  • Proactively ensuring the delivery of any guest requests
  • Seeking ways to continue to improve the guest experience and action ideas accordingly
  • Ensuring front desk areas remains clean, organized and welcoming at al times.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment at all times and record any accidents or near misses in the accident book.
  • Taking responsibility for all Health and Safety risk assessments and daily checks.
  • Understanding the fire evacuation procedure for your area, and ensure all staff are fully trained and aware of what to do in the event of a fire
  • Leading recruitment of host team members for the main desk, beach lofts and swim club
  • Planning and deliver the ongoing training & development of all team, both on the job and pre - planned.
  • Working with the team to improve all aspects of guest experience seeking their ideas and suggestions
  • Managing any underperformance within the team
  • Managing team rotas & holiday requests effectively to meet the needs of the business.
  • Working to resolve team issues in a professional manner
  • Planning & completing one to ones with all team members in line with hotel guidance.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

·       Proven experience in a management position within a similar role

·       A good knowledge of customer care/ complaint handling

·       Guest focussed

·       An excellent communicator

·       Flexible and able to work a variety of shifts including weekends

·       Calm under pressure

·       Ability to work on you own initiative

·       Excellent attention to detail

·       Proactive and always ready to adapt to guests needs

·       Aware of your working environment and ready to action any issues as they arise

·       Great organisation skills

·       Able to motivate your team to provide the best possible service to our guests

·       Caring, considerate and respectful to employees and guests

It would also be great if you have:

·       A first aid qualification

·       Pool emergency response training

·       A DBS certificate
