Description
The Newt in Somerset

The Newt in Somerset is a new and unique destination already attracting a recognition at the highest level.  Our 300-year-old estate complete with woodland, lush gardens and breath-taking views welcomes guests from all over the world. Our hotel is a home from home where our team deliver outstanding service in informal surroundings.  Gardens, orchards, and treetop walkways inspire whilst roaring fires and our wellbeing spa offer tranquility.

Food is a passion across the estate, whether hotel or our restaurants or farm shop.  Much is sourced from the estate and trusted local suppliers.

Our Hotels

Hadspen House is a home away from home, consisting of 22 high-end bedrooms and stable yard suites with a front of house team working to deliver a seamless guest journey from pre-arrival to post-stay communications and interactions. Offering a unique dining experience, the Botanical Rooms is where we weave the narrative of the estate through dishes that exemplify our belief in quality, seasonal and local ingredients. We offer a true, farm to fork dining experience in a beautifully designed, atmospheric 60 cover restaurant. Alongside this, the bar, Croquet Room, and terrace serve seasonal cocktails and afternoon tea in the Library and Drawing Room.

The Farmyard is the newest addition to our Hotel offering at the estate. Housing a 17-bedroom hotel, with pool barn, games room, kitchen restaurant and bar. The food concept is rooted firmly in Somerset, but with influences from further afield, the kitchen at the  farmyard will draw on the no frills, robust cookery. Its identity driven by location and season, with ingredients fresh from our gardens or locally sourced, ensuring quality and seasonality throughout our offering. Cooking in our wood fired oven is the focus of the menu. Open for breakfast through to dinner.
