Housekeeping Supervisor | Watergate Bay Hotel

We’re here to share the joy of Watergate Bay for everyone, now and for the future.

That means doing everything we can to make sure our team, guests and planet stay happy through the moments we create and the impact we have.

Through proper hospitality, active relaxation and thoughtful experiences, we create the time and space for guests and teams to feel their best. Everything we do is rooted in warmth, confidence and care — with sustainability and community firmly at our heart.

Dedicated, loyal guests who love what we do. A committed team with a shared outlook. An attention to detail that pushes us to excel. A deep, instinctive care for the environment around us.  It’s what sets Watergate Bay apart from other hotels and drives us to find extraordinary talent to join us.

The best hospitality brands come to life through real world experiences, transforming moments into memories and building bonds which last a lifetime. But that doesn’t happen by itself. Excellence comes to life through care, energy, and attention to detail.

Our Housekeeping Supervisor role

As our Housekeeping Supervisor, you’ll help create a first-class experience by leading with pride, trust, and warmth.

Working behind the scenes at the heart of the hotel, you’ll be part of a supportive team where purpose, connection, and commitment turn everyday work into lasting impressions. You’ll also be operating on a full-time, zero-hour contract.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Cleaning and preparing each room according to established procedures and standards.
  • Ensuring that every room is cleaned to the required standard within the designated time.
  • Signing keys in and out correctly and always maintaining key and code security.
  • Keeping spare linen neatly stored in cupboards when not in use.
  • Thoroughly checking rooms after cleaning has been completed, making sure they meet Watergate Bay standards and addressing any oversights.
  • Monitoring the condition of each room and promptly reporting any defects to the Head Housekeeper or Assistant Head Housekeeper.
  • Regularly checking inventory and notifying the Head Housekeeper or Assistant Head Housekeeper of any items that need replacement.
  • Following the guidelines outlined in the staff handbook and department standard operating procedures.
  • Adhering to our Health and Safety and COSHH regulations (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
  • Using the appropriate chemicals for each cleaning task.
  • Supervising the team to ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
  • Providing updates to the Assistant Head Housekeeper and Head Housekeeper, supervising team members, and offering feedback, advice, and support.
  • Assisting and supporting the training and development of new team members.
  • Promoting maximum efficiency through teamwork.
  • Performing any additional duties assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Supervisors.

What we’re looking for

  • A strong customer service ethos, with a keen eye for the small details that make a meaningful impact
  • Proven experience in a housekeeping role within a similar environment
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • Manual Handling and Health & Safety qualifications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience supervising and supporting a team
  • A genuine commitment to the wellbeing of our team and care for our wider environment
