We are seeking an experienced Assistant Head Housekeeper to play a pivotal role in the pre-opening and launch of Sofitel Dublin Airport Hotel—a luxury flagship property managed by the award-winning Arora Group in partnership with Accor’s Sofitel brand.

Directly connected to Terminal 2, this landmark hotel will redefine the guest experience at one of Europe’s busiest international gateways and will feature:

  • 412 elegant guestrooms
  • Extensive meetings and events facilities
  • A spectacular rooftop bar with panoramic views across Dublin and the airport

A bit about what you will do...  

The Assistant Head Housekeeper supports the daily leadership of the Housekeeping department, ensuring rooms and assigned hotel areas are clean, safe and ready on time. The role provides visible supervision, carries out inspections, coordinates priorities with other departments and supports team performance, stock control and continuous improvement.

  • Support the Executive Housekeeper in delivering exceptional housekeeping standards across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces and Spa facilities.
  • Play a key role in the successful pre-opening of the hotel, including recruitment, training, operational setup and readiness testing.
  • Ensure all guest rooms and public areas consistently meet Sofitel luxury presentation, cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Coordinate room readiness, arrivals, departures and room-status updates with Front Office to maximise guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular room and public area inspections, identifying and resolving quality, maintenance and hygiene concerns.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, feedback and housekeeping-related issues, ensuring effective service recovery and follow-up.
  • Work closely with Engineering and other departments to resolve maintenance issues and maintain high standards throughout the hotel.
  • Manage lost property, guest belongings, key control and guest privacy procedures in line with company standards.
  • Lead, coach and develop the housekeeping team through training, performance management and regular feedback.
  • Maintain departmental SOPs, training records, cleaning schedules and health & safety documentation.
  • Oversee linen, uniforms, guest amenities, cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring effective stock control and cost management.
  • Support budgeting, rostering, payroll control and purchasing activities to achieve operational and financial objectives.
  • Monitor guest feedback, quality audits and productivity metrics, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, hygiene and company operating standards.

More about you...  

  • Previous supervisory or assistant-management experience in Housekeeping within an upscale, luxury or comparable high-volume hotel environment.
  • Strong knowledge of guest-room and public-area cleaning, inspection standards, linen and uniform control, cleaning chemicals and safe equipment use. Arora Group Hotels
  • A strong eye for detail and the ability to maintain consistent presentation, hygiene and quality standards.
  • Confident team leadership, training, communication and problem-solving skills, with a guest-focused approach.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills, including rostering, record keeping, inventories, cost control and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, prioritise changing room demands and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Sound knowledge of housekeeping health and safety, manual handling, chemical safety, infection prevention and risk controls.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with operational requirements
