Job description

New, independently owned 60-seat restaurant in the West Village seeks experienced General Manager. Compensation is competitive with the industry standard and based in part upon prior experience.

ABOUT US
The restaurant will serve intelligent but unpretentious food in a relaxed and idiosyncratic space. Our ultimate goal is to be a busy neighborhood restaurant. We’ll serve simply cooked, well-sourced ingredients and our menus will change frequently through the year. We’ll have a modest wine list, a nice german lager on tap and a modest list of cocktails. We won’t have tablecloths and our servers wear aprons but not uniforms. Our team values equally: professionalism, humor, efficiency and grace. Fostering positive and easy relationships between front and back of house is a core goal.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong restaurant experience with minimum two years in management
• Atypically fierce work ethic
• A commanding sense of your own personal style
• Great attention to detail
• An easy, confident affability with customers
• Intolerance for slowness of any kind
• The ability to hold a position of authority with grace
• An almost OCD need for order and cleanliness
• Operational knowledge of the cash register, cash handling procedures and reconciliation of multiple cash banks and reports
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks, Micros and Opentable
• New York State Food Handler license
