A bit about us.
Grind is a coffee company that lives in London. Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, we've expanded across London with cafés, coffee trucks and a state-of-the-art coffee roastery. Today, we serve millions of cups of coffee across London and the UK each year, and we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people make better, more sustainable coffee at home.
You’ll find our coffee beans, compostable coffee pods and ready-to-drink coffee cans - in supermarkets across the UK and in hotels around the world.
Based in Shoreditch, we have a team of talented people working on everything from product development to finance, to customer experience. We’re looking for someone to join our growing team and help us in building the future of Grind.
We think coffee can be a force for good. Whether it's through creating the UK's first compostable coffee pods, our plastic-free packaging or carbon-free shipping - we're on a mission to be the world's most sustainable coffee company.
In 2023, we created our charity, the Better Coffee Foundation, to undo the damage done by the global coffee industry - in our first year, we recovered 43 million pods' worth of ocean-bound plastic.
A bit about the role.
We’re looking for a Junior Digital Designer to join our dynamic and growing creative team, reporting into the Creative and Design Lead. This role is perfect for a creative thinker who’s hungry to learn, eager to make an impact, and ready to bring fresh energy to our digital output. You’ll collaborate closely with the Design Lead and wider creative team to produce visually engaging content across digital channels — from social media and email campaigns to web assets and motion design.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, develop your skills across multiple design disciplines, and help elevate our brand’s digital presence. If you’re a self-starter with a good eye for detail, a love for design, and a passion for creating beautiful digital experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
Role responsibilities.
Support the creative team in developing on-brand digital content across all channels.
Assist in designing and producing digital marketing materials (e.g. social media assets, website banners, email templates, digital ads).
Maintaining content on the website and sales platforms (Amazon, Tiktok shop) with up to date assets and product photography.
Work with the CRM team to create engaging email designs that drive results.
Support with the creation and organisation of assets for Paid Social Media accounts in line with brand guidelines, then tweak and refine them based on performance.
Help maintain visual consistency across all digital touchpoints in line with brand guidelines.
Collaborate with internal teams to respond to creative briefs with smart, well-executed ideas.
Support on photoshoots and video production where needed (e.g. assisting with art direction or editing).
Keep digital asset libraries up-to-date, ensuring files are well-organised and easy to access.
Stay up to date with digital trends, tools and platforms, and share your ideas with the wider team.
You’ll have.
A proactive, can-do attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for design.
A good grasp of visual hierarchy, typography, and layout principles.
Experience (or strong interest) in designing for digital channels — social media, email, and web.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma (especially Photoshop, After effects and Figma are a big plus).
Good communication skills and the confidence to share your ideas.
Great attention to detail and a willingness to take feedback and grow.
The ability to manage your time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A portfolio that demonstrates your creative flair and understanding of digital design.
Some experience of design to brief, either in-house or at an agency.
Bonus if you have…
