HR Administrator

£21,500 pro rata plus annual performance bonus and fantastic benefits

30-40 hours per week across 5 days

 

 

The Newt in Somerset


The Newt in Somerset is a country estate with ancient woodland, historic gardens and far-reaching views; a new and unique destination with luxury hotel, spa, restaurants and an abundance of homegrown produce. Visitors can take a tour of the gardens, deer park and cyder press, dine in the Garden Café or browse our farm shops. Attracting some 200,000 visitors per year from all over the world, our vibrant and thriving garden attraction is animated throughout the seasons by special events, workshops and educational programmes.

 


Department Description


The team at the Newt are what makes it such a special place to visit and work. The HR department is at the heart of the business and the HR team are committed to ensuring that the Newt is a great place to work through people centric concepts that support the overall business goals.  We manage a varied team across the estate from our gardeners to our bakers...from our spa therapists to our farmers. We offer support with tailored recruitment, experience and development programmes and opportunities for engagement and reward. We constantly evolve what we do to fit with our ever-changing environment, whilst recognising all of the wonderful people that bring 'Team Newt' to life.

 


Position Summary


Working closely with our HR Officer, the HR Administrator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the HR department.

The role will be varied and will encompass a range of different administrative responsibilities so the right candidate must be adaptable, organised and flexible.

 

This could be a great opportunity for someone looking to settle into a varied administrative role or someone looking to start their career in HR!

 

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Electronic and paper filing
  • Assisting with ensuring all electronic databases are up-to-date and accurate
  • Ensuring details on HARRI Team Management system are accurate
  • Processing Purchase Orders using SAGE
  • Assisting with the starter process for all new employees
  • Assist with planning and implementation of HR led events, programmes and courses.
  • Assisting the HR team with any other administrative duties

 

Skills and Experience


  • Computer literate
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages including excel
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to work within a small team
  • Organised with an eye for detail
