Evening Cafe Manager

Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week. Shifts & hours could vary according to gigs and events.

Remuneration: £15 per hour

We require an Evening Cafe Manager to join the ICA Cafe Bar team at the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) on The Mall.  ICA is expanding its repertoire of evening events & gigs so we are looking for someone to manage this space during the evening.

ICA is open Tuesday to Sunday. By day the cafe is a gallery counter cafe/coffee shop and by night a cocktail bar. You’ll be overseeing the evening team giving the kind of support, service, product knowledge and customer engagement normally seen in quality independent restaurants, bars and coffee shops.

Leading this small cafe bar team.  Take responsibility running the ICA cafe bar through evening shifts. Driving high levels of customer service & engagement. Ensuring a clean and safe environment for guests and team members. Ensuring beverage items are correctly prepped, stored and served.  Ensuring the cafe bar staff are correctly trained and motivated.

Calm under pressure and adaptable. At least 1 year’s experience in a cafe or bar operation.  Managerial experience is not essential.  Aptitude and a professional attitude is what we are looking for.  You should be someone who enjoys working in a gallery environment.
