Your Role:
As the Senior Sommelier at Il Gattopardo, you’ll work closely with the Head Sommelier to deliver an exceptional wine experience to our guests. You will guide guests through our carefully curated wine list, offering personalised recommendations and sharing your deep knowledge of wines. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of the wine programme and the upkeep of the wine cellar.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Build strong guest relationships and provide proactive, personalised wine service.

  • Confidently recommend and discuss wines, enhancing the dining experience.

  • Support stock control, inventories, and upkeep of the wine cellar.

  • Ensure wines are stored, handled, and served to the highest standards.

  • Share your knowledge of wine trends and help develop the team.

  • Contribute to pre-service briefings and help ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Uphold safety, cleanliness, and departmental standards while supporting the Head Sommelier team.

Key Hey Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role at a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel.

  • Strong knowledge of wine, with the ability to confidently recommend and discuss wines.

  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and enhancing dining moments.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.
