Position Overview:
As the Senior Sommelier at Il Gattopardo, you will collaborate closely with the Head Sommelier and Assistant Head Sommelier to deliver outstanding wine service, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and personalised experience. Your expertise will enhance the dining experience as you guide guests through our curated wine list, offering thoughtful recommendations and sharing your knowledge.
Your role is central to maintaining the quality and efficiency of the wine programme, supporting the organisation and upkeep of our wine cellar, and contributing to departmental goals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Build strong guest relationships and provide proactive, personalised wine service.
- Confidently recommend and discuss wines, enhancing the dining experience.
- Support stock control, inventories, and upkeep of the wine cellar.
- Ensure wines are stored, handled, and served to the highest standards.
- Share knowledge of wine trends and support team development.
- Contribute to pre-service briefings and smooth daily operations.
- Uphold safety, cleanliness, and departmental standards while supporting the Head Sommelier team.
