The Role

The Cook’s is responsible for performing the full cooking process using the restaurant’s assigned recipes. This includes preparing and measuring ingredients; grilling, frying, broiling, baking and sautéing; checking for the proper doneness and taste; adjusting seasoning and temperature for best results and set plate presentations. The cook is fully responsible for all aspects of the cooking station. Ensures that the cooking station and preparation area meets all set sanitation guidelines and proper product rotation. Our cooks work neatly and cleanly, and have the ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.

The Requirements

As a Cook, we would love you to have:
At least 2 years of related high-volume experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred
Maintains local health department food handler’s certification up to date and current
Able to speak, comprehend and understand English
Able to talk and hear directions in a loud kitchen environment
A passion for food and the cooking position, exceptional work ethic and dedication
Knowledge and passion for italian food is a plus
Able to perform in a team serving environment
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays – REQUIRED
Ability to stand during entire shift
Ability to stand for extended periods, and lift 30+ lbs


The Restaurant

Now open in Baltimore’s Harbor East neighborhood, Italian Disco is inspired by the casual Italian-American pizzerias and restaurants of the late 1970s and 80s. The newest opening from Atlas Restaurant Group offers classic Italian appetizers, sandwiches, and entrées for lunch, dinner, takeout and late-night. Executive chef Julian Marucci of the group’s neighboring restaurants Tagliata and The Elk Room serves signature Italian comfort food including house-made garlic bread, classic Italian meatballs, 16 varieties of wood-fired pizza, calzones + sandwiches, a selection of pastas and the Disco Burger topped with bacon, cheddar and garlic aioli. To drink, Italian Disco offers over 30 beers on draft alongside a selection of Italian wines and craft cocktails. Located in the historic Bagby building in downtown Baltimore, Italian Disco is reminiscent of the days of MTV, the Brat Pack and Mystic Pizza.
