Assistant Manager – Jersey Mike’s Subs
Location: Torrance, CA and surrounding areas
Compensation: $23/hour (DOE) + Tips 
Employment Type: Full-time (Evening and Weekend Availability Required)

We are currently seeking a professional, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our restaurant and foster a positive, team-centered environment.

Position Overview
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in leading store operations, supervising staff, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and food quality. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and mentor team members in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the restaurant team to ensure high performance, accountability, and engagement

  • Deliver excellent customer service and resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner

  • Train and onboard new employees while reinforcing Jersey Mike’s standards and operational procedures

  • Assist with inventory control, stock organization, and order receiving

  • Monitor and support compliance with food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards

  • Perform daily cash handling, safe and register procedures, including accurate mid-day drops and closeouts

  • Support payroll/timekeeping administration, invoice verification, and documentation procedures

  • Ensure execution of marketing promotions and community engagement efforts

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both guests and employees

  • Act as a positive culture leader, embodying Jersey Mike’s core values and mentoring staff

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the food service or hospitality industry

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional problem-solving, multitasking, and time-management abilities

  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work evening and weekend shifts

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

  • Valid Driver’s License preferred
