General Manager - Jersey Mike’s Subs

Jersey Mike's Subs is seeking a driven, people-focused General Manager to lead one of our BRAND NEW Jersey Mike’s Subs locations. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who is passionate about developing people, delivering exceptional customer service, and running a profitable business through strong systems and culture.

Our General Managers are leaders first. You will be entrusted with building a winning team, creating memorable customer experiences, and driving results through training, accountability, and fun.

What You’ll Do:

Increase Sales

  • Create customers, keep customers, and grow customers
  • Deliver outstanding product quality, speed, and service
  • Consistently “wow” customers by exceeding expectations
  • Execute local store marketing initiatives

Control Costs & Drive Profitability

  • Review financials weekly and focus on key performance drivers
  • Train and execute proven systems consistently
  • Understand that training is constant—it’s not optional

Build a Positive, Winning Culture

  • Lead with a servant leadership mindset
  • Set clear expectations and direction for the team
  • Be fair, consistent, and accountable
  • Recognize and reward top performers
  • Challenge, develop, and grow every team member
  • Create a workplace that is challenging, rewarding, and fun

Develop People

  • Invest time and energy into individual growth
  • Personally train team members daily
  • Treat every team member as a future leader
  • Conduct written evaluations twice per year
  • Use established training systems 

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Ordering

  • Complete inventory every Monday by 10:00 AM
  • Maintain accurate inventory in CrunchTime
  • Review and report variances weekly
  • Place Sysco, Pepsi, and snack orders on schedule
  • Never run out of product or work out of the meat case

Scheduling & Labor Control

  • Create schedules two weeks in advance
  • Maintain hourly labor below 17%
  • Schedule based on business needs
  • Ensure management coverage for dinners
  • Fix time punch errors daily in Harri

Staffing & Management

  • Hire, train, and terminate team members following proper procedures
  • Ensure all hiring and onboarding requirements are met
  • Staff proactively based on sales and seasonality
  • Personally train all openers and closers

Store Operations

  • Lead all daily operations and checklists
  • Maintain a clean, fully stocked, and organized store
  • Ensure compliance with Jolt checklists and procedures
  • Oversee bank deposits and production reporting
  • Communicate equipment and maintenance needs promptly

Customer Service

  • Know at least 25 customers by name and order
  • Maintain a fully staffed and focused front line
  • Train team members to provide exceptional service
  • Create long-lasting customer experiences

Catering

  • Help grow catering sales
  • Build and maintain catering client relationships
  • Communicate and execute large orders flawlessly

Schedule & Time Commitment

  • 5–6 days per week
  • 50 hours per week (possibly more during openings or peak seasons)
  • Available to handle store-related issues as needed
