You’ll work closely with the General Manager to build a high-performing team, create an incredible restaurant culture and help establish what great looks like for Jersey Mike’s in the UK. And as we grow, so can you.

Role and Responsibilities:

Support the General Manager in operating a consistently high-performing restaurant and developing the store team.

  • Run complete restaurant shifts with responsibility for people, product, service, and facility execution.

  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of crew members and shift leaders.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.

  • Assist with employee scheduling and deployment based on forecasted sales.

  • Support inventory counts, ordering, receiving, product rotation, and waste control.

  • Monitor food cost, labour utilization, overtime, discounts, voids, and other controllable expenses.

  • Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation, workplace-safety, and brand requirements.

  • Assist with cash controls, deposits, safe procedures, and daily paperwork.

  • Help maintain equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary.

  • Support catering, local-store marketing, community involvement, and sales-building activities.

  • Help identify future Shift Leads and Managers and develop internal talent.

  • Serve as manager-in-charge when the General Manager is unavailable

  • Direct station assignments and deploy team members based on sales volume.

  • Lead pre-shift communication and communicate priorities to the team.

  • Maintain speed of service and identify bottlenecks during peak periods.

  • Coach crew members in real time on service, food quality, cleanliness, and procedures.

  • Ensure proper opening, shift-change, and closing procedures.

  • Monitor prep levels, product availability, and restocking throughout the shift.

  • Handle routine guest concerns and resolve issues appropriately.

  • Coordinate breaks and adjust deployment as business levels change.

  • Greet guests and provide friendly, energetic service.

  • Take orders accurately and operate the POS/register.

  • Prepare subs according to Jersey Mike’s recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.

  • Work assigned stations including slicer, grill, bread, sprinkle, register, and order assembly once properly trained/certified.

  • Maintain product quality, freshness, proper temperatures, and food-safety standards.

  • Complete cleaning, sanitation, stocking, prep, dishes, and opening/closing tasks.

  • Maintain a clean dining room, service line, kitchen, and exterior.

  • Follow uniform, appearance, attendance, safety, and brand standards.

  • Support online, delivery, catering, and pickup orders as required


Requirements:

  • Ability to work a 45+ hour week, varying shift patterns.

  • Available to work weekends. 

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Ability to handle fast-paced and high stress situations.

  • Understand that in times of need, extra hours and efforts will be required.

  • Organize and establish priorities in the store with minimal supervision.
