Bartenders are responsible for positive Guest interactions while serving Guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Bartenders play an integral role in ensuring our Guests have exceptional dining experiences. At all times, Bartenders are expected to be attentive to our Guests’ needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
The right person will be passionate about food, beverage, and service and thoroughly enjoy creating excellent experiences for our Guests. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing disposition and previous experience working as a Bartender in a bustling, fast-paced restaurant setting. Bartender shifts maybe breakfast, lunch, or dinner; and will include weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
Prepare bar for service by stocking all necessary fruits, juices, spirits, bitters, etc.
Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for dining room and bar Guests
Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu offering, offering beverages, suggesting courses, explaining any additions to the menu, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, answering allergy/dietary restriction, and food preparation and sourcing questions
Inform Guests of basic information about offerings at the restaurant or other bar-lab venues on property and/or locally
Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to all bar-lab policies and procedures, sanitation standards, safety and alcohol control policies
Stay updated on current menu choices, menu additions, available menu modifications, and any unavailable items
Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices and ringing appropriate items into POS; identifying patrons' dietary needs and special requests and any other necessary identifier
Fire courses according to kitchen and Guest needs
Ensure Guests orders make it to them in a timely manner, properly made, and with the correct accompaniments
Respond to additional Guest requests; involving a manager for unusual or difficult requests
Maintain bar by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, being alert to patron spills and/or other special needs
Properly describe, open, and pour beverages
Correctly obtain payment by totaling charges, issuing bill, tendering payment, returning change or credit card and signature slip to Guest
Retrieving signed credit card or room charge slip prior to Guest departure and thanking them for their visit
Contribute to team effort by assisting other staff as time allows
Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by manager
Fill in for absent staff as needed
Assist with special events as needed
Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
Promptly address Guest service issues and refer to management when necessary
Additional requests made by management to maintain flow of service, Guest experience, and/or restaurant cleanliness
Qualifications:
Previous bartending experience required
Excellent verbal communication skills required
Positive interpersonal skills required
Must speak English fluently
Physically able to carry 35 pounds; able to stand, bend, and move throughout shift
Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
Works well and efficiently under pressure
