What hours will you be working? 

40 hours per week across Monday to Friday (inclusive of breaks) Default hours are 8-4 dependant on work demands and site access but we are flexible with start and finish times, dependant on the business needs.

Place of Work

You’ll be working across our pubs, bars and hotels in the North-West of England, primarily based in the Cheshire areas including the Wirral, Chester and South Manchester areas where there’s a constant flow of repair/maintenance work. Some work further afield may be required from time to time to cover colleagues’ areas or work collaboratively on a bigger project.

What you’ll be doing as a Maintenance Technician

Working within a team of 2 technicians, you’ll mainly be working on your own visiting our pubs to perform planned maintenance tasks alongside reactive maintenance to more urgent problems. This is a fast-paced and physically demanding role.

 Your role will be crucial in ensuring our sites are kept in great condition, and responsibilities will include;

  • General maintenance including plumbing, joinery, tiling, painting and patch plastering 
  • Some outdoor work including grounds work, paving, brickwork, masonry and drainage
  • Completing all the required maintenance tasks set to you each week
  • Ensuring health and safety law is adhered to, following processes and staying up to date with your training
  • Liaising with the maintenance manager to plan work and completing any associated reporting on our online system

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience and competence in all skills and/or City and Guilds craft certificate in a construction trade, or a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in a relevant trade or in multi-trade building maintenance operations
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Highly motivated and driven with a high level of self-discipline
  • A strong work ethic with efficient and logical thinking
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and provide clear verbal and written information relative to building maintenance activities
  • Good time management with proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work as necessary to deal with multiple and competing demands on a regular basis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with staff and customers at all levels
  • IT competent - Experience of using an online property management system to update and complete jobs, providing photos where necessary is advantageous
  • Strong collaborative approach and team ethic
  • Undertaking continual training to develop your skills and knowledge
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
