LOCATION: In the office, on our markets, across London scouting new talent
REPORTS TO: Senior Markets Manager
SALARY: £28,000 - £30,000
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Permanent (Requiring occasional Saturday working)
Company Overview
KERB is a business that powers other businesses. We focus on the incubation and growth of innovative, independent food businesses. We run brilliant street food markets, workshops, consultancy, bars, a food hall in Central London and have developed a growing, successful corporate catering company, KERB Events Limited.
We are a food-obsessed and people-first company who believes that everyone with a bit of spark should have the opportunity to ignite it. Be it food entrepreneurs or team members, our mission is to create opportunity and joy through great food, from the KERB up.
Role Description
We’re looking for an energetic, organised, and personable Market Manager to join our team within KERB+, a purpose-driven, not-for-profit business operating at the heart of the KERB Ecosystem. We run a membership scheme, deliver inclusive incubation and acceleration programs for independent food businesses, and support those who need it most in finding employment in hospitality.
As the KERB Market Manager, you’ll be the on-the-ground coordinator, overseeing the daily operations of KERB’s bustling markets and contributing to the wider mission of KERB+. You’ll work closely with our food vendors, ensuring each event runs smoothly, safely, and vibrantly. You’ll have a strong eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a knack for building strong relationships with vendors and customers alike.
The successful candidate will oversee a team of freelance market managers across five sites, each running at least six lunchtime markets per week. You’ll also collaborate with the food team to foster the growth and development of our existing traders. This role is perfect for someone with top-notch organisational skills who’s just as comfortable enjoying great food as they are facilitating its success operationally—both on-site at markets and through effective communication and tech tools.
