REGIONAL COACH

Gastronomy Restaurants Ltd | KFC franchise partner

Field-based with regular travel across your assigned regional patch

We’re looking for an experienced regional operations leader to lead 3 to 4 Area Coaches across approximately 25 restaurants. You’ll bring experience managing Area Managers or equivalent multi-site leaders and delivering strong people, operational and commercial results.

Gastronomy’s restaurants are across the Midlands, North West and North Wales. You’ll cover an assigned patch within this area, travelling regularly between restaurants. We’re flexible about where you live, provided you can be present across your patch to support your Area Coaches and their teams.

Welcome to KFC. Home of the real ones.

We sell the world’s best chicken. We’ve done it for a long old time, since 1939, when the idea of finger lickin’ good chicken popped into our Colonel’s head. Now, we proudly serve 1000+ communities across the UK and Ireland, bringing the grit, pride and iconic reputation that started in Kentucky all those years ago.

People who are original. Individual. Fresh. We come to work to be ourselves, and to make something of ourselves. We bring the graft and the laughs every day, building our own community, as we serve our original recipe chicken to the ones we’re in.

In our place, ambition grows. Careers build. Potential goes further. Our doors are open, and they can take you anywhere.

If you join our team, we only ask one thing. That you be you.

Because that makes us, us.

Sound good? Great. Here’s more about the job.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll take ownership of your region’s People, Guest, Sales and Profit performance. You’ll develop your Area Coaches, set clear priorities and hold them accountable for building successful restaurant teams and delivering consistent standards.

You’ll combine strategic planning with regular time in restaurants, using what you see and hear to improve performance, strengthen leadership and support the business’s long-term growth.

What will you spend your time doing?

  • Lead and develop your Area Coaches: Set clear objectives, coach and challenge performance, and support development through regular reviews and visits across the region.
  • Shape and deliver the strategy: Contribute to the business’s operational strategy and translate it into practical regional plans. Use performance data, local insights and market trends to identify priorities and opportunities.
  • Own commercial performance: Take responsibility for your region’s profit and loss, grow sales and manage costs. Agree improvement plans with your Area Coaches and follow through on delivery while protecting quality and service.
  • Build your leadership pipeline: Plan succession and future staffing needs over a 12 to 24 month horizon. Work with the People and Recruitment teams to attract, develop and retain leaders who can support our growth.
  • Deliver consistent standards: Drive food quality, guest experience and operational efficiency. Use feedback, audits and business data to identify issues, agree actions and make improvements that last.
  • Lead change and improvement: Lead the rollout of new technology, processes and operational initiatives. Help your teams adapt, simplify how restaurants work and share improvements across the business.
  • Lead on safety and incident response: Champion health and safety, food safety and compliance. Act as the first escalation point for serious operational incidents, lead the response in line with established procedures and ensure critical risks are escalated and addressed promptly.
  • Work across the business: Partner with People, Finance and central support teams. Keep communication clear between restaurant teams, Area Coaches and the Director of Operations, providing timely updates on performance, risks and opportunities.

What we love from you:

  • Experience at this level: You bring a strong record in regional operations, with experience leading Area Managers, Area Coaches or equivalent multi-site leaders in hospitality, retail or a comparable operational environment.
  • Commercial understanding: You’re confident owning financial performance, managing budgets and using data to make sound decisions that improve sales and profit.
  • The ability to develop leaders: You know how to coach experienced managers, spot potential and address underperformance with clear expectations and practical support.
  • Strategic thinking and delivery: You can plan ahead while staying close to what’s happening in restaurants and helping your teams turn priorities into action.
  • Calm, accountable leadership: You make considered decisions under pressure, lead teams through change and take ownership when challenges arise.
  • Our values in action: You demonstrate Courage, Culture and Growth through the way you lead, develop people and work with others.

Keeping it real

We don’t hire staff. We hire people. People with real lives and aspirations, building real careers. Each of us has something special to add to the mix we call work, and we’ll always encourage you to add your perspective.

See, at KFC, everyone’s welcome, whatever your background, and whatever future you’re creating. We’ll look out for you because you’re one of us, not because you work for us. We’ll invest in your potential, because it’s what we’ve always done. But most of all, we’ll give you the freedom to be you, wherever (and whoever) you happen to be.

What’s in it for you:

We offer a bonus opportunity alongside the chance to lead a region within a growing KFC franchise business.

KFC for everyone:

Whoever you are and wherever you’re from, KFC is a place where you can bring the real you to work. We’re here to support you in being yourself, whether you work with us, or are trying to.

Our promise is this: every person who applies to a role at KFC, regardless of age, background, ethnicity, gender, ability, religion or sexual orientation, will have an equal opportunity to work here. We don’t just welcome, we encourage applications from underrepresented groups in all industries.

If you’d like any additional support with your application, have a disability or condition that may affect your performance during the recruitment process, or have any other requirements, just let us know. We’ll be there to help you be the real you.

Ready?

We hope so. If you’re ready to be part of our community, now’s the time to apply.

Worried you aren’t ticking all the boxes? Don’t. We’d still love to hear from you.

This role is with Gastronomy Restaurants Ltd, a KFC franchise partner. Benefits and employment terms may differ from those offered by KFC-owned restaurants or other franchise partners.
