Learning Capability Lead
KFC UK & I - People & Culture

Description

Welcome to KFC. Home of the real ones.

We sell the world’s best chicken. Seriously. And we’ve done it since 1939, when the idea of crispy, original recipe chicken took Kentucky by storm. Now, we’re proud to serve 1000+ communities across the UK and Ireland, bringing the grit, pride and iconic reputation that we started with, all those years ago.

Across the Restaurant Support Centre (RSC), we come to work to be ourselves, and to make something of ourselves. We want to see our potential go that little bit further, as part of one of the world’s most iconic brands.

What’s the gig? Well, you support our restaurants — and we’ll support you every step of the way. Simple. Our doors are open — and they can take you anywhere.

All we ask is that you be you. Because that makes us, us. Sound good? Great. Let’s find out about that job.

THE TEAM

Our People and Culture team creates a place where people don’t just work - they thrive and feel genuinely proud to be part of something real. We’re here for all 36,000 members of Team KFC – shaping a bold, inclusive culture where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered to grow.

We lead with smart, heart, and courage and are people first, always. From finding and nurturing top talent to unlocking growth opportunities, we’re ambitious about our people’s potential. We ask questions, push boundaries, and challenge the usual way of doing things - if it means building a better experience for our teams, we’re all in.

About the role

As our Restaurant Capability Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our people across KFC UKI. You will be responsible for the strategic design, development, and implementation of learning and development initiatives that attract, retain, and grow high-performing and engaged talent.

This role will directly contribute to building a culture of continuous learning and development, empowering our employees to reach their full potential and drive our business forward. This role will require being based at our Restaurant Support Centre (RSC) in Woking for 2 days a week.

What will you spend your time doing?

  • Build strong relationships with employees across Restaurants, both Equity & Franchisees, as well as global stakeholders
  • Serve as a key thought partner to define the learning and development priorities across the KFC UKI system
  • Develop, design and deliver effective training solutions and strategies to build and enhance restaurant capability
  • Partner with Yum to shape both restaurant & above restaurant leadership capability and coach effectiveness based on current, emerging, and future business needs
  • Lead and partner with stakeholders to identify current competency gaps and those needed for their future state to drive restaurant performance.
  • Build and create robust methods for tracking, reporting, evaluating and analysing performance of the L&D offering and effectiveness of the programmes it delivers
  • Partner with the global support and training teams to manage the LMS, update course materials, resolve user issues, and develop globally applicable training content.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to conduct thorough curriculum reviews, ensuring the continual relevance and currency of our learning & development offerings.
  • Lead the design, ownership and management of Yum’s Leadership Development Curriculum review
  • Continuously manage learning software and supplier relationships, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with evolving market offerings.
  • Effectively and proactively manage a Learning & Development budget
  • Participate in additional projects for the broader People & Culture team to meet business needs
