Receptionist/Host
Receptionist/Host - Kioku by Endo, Whitehall
Kioku by Endo sits on the sixth floor of Raffles London at The OWO, the former Old War Office, with views across Whitehall, Westminster and the London skyline. Kioku means “memory” in Japanese. The menu tells the story of third generation sushi master Endo Kazutoshi’s life, bringing together his Japanese heritage and his Mediterranean training. As part of Creative Restaurant Group, we’re looking for a Receptionist/Host to be the first and last face our guests see.
The Role
As Receptionist/Host, you will set the tone for every guest’s visit, from the first booking enquiry to the final goodbye. You will look after guests across the main dining room, the chef’s table, the terrace and our private dining room in the turret. Our guests include Raffles residents, regulars and visitors from around the world. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager, the floor team and the hotel as one team, delivering an experience like no other in London.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone polished and personable who wants to grow in confidence and build a lasting career in luxury hospitality.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcoming guests with warmth, grace and professionalism as they arrive
- Managing reservations, the waitlist and enquiries through our booking system
- Answering calls, emails and messages promptly and politely
- Planning table allocation across the dining room, terrace, chef’s table and private dining room
- Recognising regular guests and remembering their preferences
- Recording dietary requirements, allergies and special occasions accurately
- Keeping the floor team and kitchen updated on arrivals, timings and guest notes
- Working closely with the Raffles team on hotel guest bookings and requests
- Managing confirmation calls, guest departures and coats
- Keeping the reception area immaculate
- Taking part in daily briefings and ongoing training
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a host or receptionist in a fine dining restaurant, members’ club or luxury hotel is essential.
You will need:
- A warm, polished and professional manner
- Excellent communication skills, in person, on the phone and in writing
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to stay calm and gracious when the door is busy
- Confidence using booking systems such as SevenRooms or OpenTable
- A team first attitude
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Salary: Competitive, based on experience, plus benefits
Why Join Us?
At Creative Restaurant Group, we want people to build careers, not simply fill roles. You will learn alongside experienced hospitality professionals. As your skills develop, you’ll have genuine opportunities to progress into Head Host, Reservations Manager, supervisory and management positions.
- Work in one of London’s most remarkable rooftop restaurants
- Hands on training and ongoing development
- Clear opportunities for career progression
- The chance to grow across Creative Restaurant Group, including ENDO, SUMI and HUMO
- 28 days paid holiday
- Staff meals while on duty
- Employee discounts across participating restaurants
- Wagestream access to your earned pay
Bring your warmth, polish and organisation to Kioku, and help us make every guest feel welcome from the very first hello.
Note: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK without corporate sponsorship.
