We are recruiting for a talented and motivated Pastry Head Chef to join the culinary team at our luxury hotel. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone with previous experience in a four- or five-star hotel or fine dining environment. You will be responsible for the strategic direction, management, and day-to-day running of the pastry kitchen, ensuring exceptional quality and innovation across all dessert and bakery offerings. You will report directly to the Executive Head Chef.

Location: Mayfair, London  

Employment Type: Full time/ 40 hours per week 

Working pattern: 5 days per week

Salary:  up to £42,000 per annum

The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel, part of Red Carnation Hotels, is a four-star boutique hotel in the heart of exclusive Mayfair. Some of its features include 107 bedrooms as well as seven different event spaces, a Butler’s Restaurant, a Terrace Bar, Stanley’s Rooftop Bar, and a Conservatory, where we offer our guests a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and exquisite food and drink. 

Key Responsibilities of Pastry Head Chef:

  • Lead and manage the entire pastry team, setting standards of excellence and ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Design and develop menus for à la carte, banqueting, afternoon tea, and special events, showcasing creativity and seasonal ingredients.
  • Maintain consistency and innovation across all pastry products and presentations.
  • Oversee ordering, stock control, and cost management, ensuring budget targets are achieved.
  • Train, mentor, and inspire junior pastry chefs, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
  • Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and allergen control.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Head Chef and senior culinary team to align with the hotel’s luxury brand standards.

  • Proven track record as a Pastry Head Chef or Senior Pastry Chef in a fine dining or luxury hotel environment.
  • Expert knowledge of classical and contemporary pastry techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, thriving under pressure.
  • Passion for training and developing team members.
