You will have imagination and flair, someone who wants to express their creativity, not just follow a formula. You will have the opportunity to craft menus that tell your story, showcase your signature style, and evolve with the seasons.

About The Relais Henley

Set in the heart of historic Henley-on-Thames, The Relais Henley is a refined waterside retreat, where heritage meets relaxed luxury. Our 40-room boutique hotel, with its riverside setting and warm, elegant interiors, attracts guests seeking the best of English comfort, seasonal dining, and genuine hospitality.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary of  up to £58,000 OTE (inclusive of service charge) and performance-based incentives.

Your Role

As Head Chef, you will be the creative force behind our kitchen, driving menus, leading a passionate team, and championing fresh, seasonal produce from trusted local suppliers.

You will:

  • Develop and execute imaginative menus that balance classic and contemporary style.
  • Lead, inspire, and train a talented brigade with positivity and professionalism.
  • Uphold the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation.
  • Work closely with management to ensure profitability and guest satisfaction.
  • Build relationships with local producers and artisans to showcase the best of the region.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience as a Head or Senior Sous Chef in a similar setting.
  • Brings a strong understanding of seasonal, locally inspired British cuisine.
  • Leads by example, mentoring the team and fostering a positive kitchen culture.
  • Is commercially astute and committed to sustainability and consistency.
