Job Title: Executive Head Chef 
Department: Kitchen 
Location: Chicago 

Role Description 

Leading the Kitchen team, you are responsible for the delivery of a high-class food service. You will lead our kitchen on site, to serve food to guests throughout their CUBE journey, or event booking.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Orchestrating and leading top quality food service to complement the customer experience.  
  • Prepare and cook dishes to the company specification.  
  • Ensure food is always delivered on time and to a high standard. 
  • Leading the kitchen team on shift, ensuring staff follow direction at all times. 
  • Labor Management  
  • Equipment Management and Preventive Maintenance  
  • Monitor and order stock, ensuring sufficient levels at all times. 
  • Inventory Management  
  • Ensuring the highest level of safety and hygiene at all times. 
  • Recruiting and training new staff members.  
  • Maintain a clean and presentable service area at all times. 
  • Leverage business metrics and trends to drive performance and to maximize profit 
  • Forecast food consumption  
  • Drive development of culinary team through training, mentoring, and managing 

Other Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Ensure all training is completed and documented in a timely manner for yourself and the team – including all allergen / food safety training.  
  • Proactively contribute to and suggest ways of improving company procedures. 
  • Design and implement new processes as directed by the senior team. 
  • Onboarding and training new members of the team. 

Skills 

Technical 

  • 10 years of Kitchen / Cooking experience. 
  • Experience leading large teams including back-office responsibilities.  
  • High volume kitchen operation experience.  
  • Recruiting, building and training teams of kitchen staff. 
  • Implementing processes to improve service and operations. 
  • Experience opening and closing the kitchen area. 

Personal  

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends. 
  • Positive, ‘Can do’ attitude, picking up any additional responsibilities to help the wider team. 
  • Strong leadership. 
  • A keen eye for detail, never compromising standards and keen to deliver an amazing service. 
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt.  
  • Making suggestions for improvements.  
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds  
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time including maneuvering up and down stairs 
  • Ability to obtain required certifications for position
